New material could change the world of electronic

The reason that this material is so special is the unusual movement of its electrons.
The electrons of a normal semiconductor will move in the same way as the electric current when current is applied, but while doing that they will also spin around their axis. Normally this movement is not the same for all electrons, half of them will spin one way and the other half will spin the other way.
But is seems that for materials such as a type of lead-platinum-oxide compound, all electrons spin in the same direction. That odd movement of the electrons could be used to pack the information more densely.
If that will be made possible, then more power will be stored and used in smaller devices, which will ultimately lead to much slimmer laptops and electronic devices such as mp3-players.
