Lars Helseth, scientist at the Nanyang Technological University, has did many experiments with nanomagnets, and last has combined magnetic side with optical side, so magnetic particles are pushed using laser.

With microscopic lens, the laser is focused on a 30 micrometers diameter. With a 30 mW power, the laser pushes those particles, using their gravity in the same time.

At this moment when particles goes on the printing surface, they will use the magnetic charge at a 200 nm accuracy.

Unfortunately this printing procedure is very slow because of its writing quality of 1 micron, and the time for printing only one character raise until a few minutes.

Anyway Lars Helseth said that if increase the laser power may grow up the printing speed at a few millimeters per second.
