Molecular memory

The scientists have built memory chips that can store 50 times more information than current ones into an identical space as size than electronic devices. The information is stored much dense at molecular level.
On the new type of storage we can get 100 gigabits per centimeter square.
The new model still has problems in creating this kind of devices.
Through this type of storage the researchers tries to pass to a new one from the actual silicon based that might have already some limitations regarding their size because they cannot be minimized more than are now.
Writing in the molecular model is done perpendicular using nano wires creating a grid in this way.
