click to enlarge At the "All Things Digital" conference in San Diego, Bill Gates announced that new forms of communication and interaction with the computer will be used to replace the traditional mouse and keyboard and gave a demonstration of its new operating system.

With touch inputs, the new system allows users enlarge and shrink photos, trace routes on maps, paint pictures or play the piano and it's scheduled to be released in 2010.

The president of Microsoft claimed that the way we interact with our computer, will change dramatically, as over the years we will start using touch, speech and even vision in communicating with computers.

The multi touch system is expected to be more successful than Vista and this is only the beginning for what Microsoft is planning to offer us in the future regarding interactive communication with the computer.

There are people that claim about this new operating system is just an update of Windows Vista and many ideas are alike with those of other operating systems, so when asked who will launch the multi touch system first on the market: Apple or Microsoft, executive chief Ballmer said that is not important since Microsoft is a successful company and it will not be a loss to for both companies if the one of them will launch the product first.
