Informations condensed on photons

Scientists have been tried to store informations in photons.The first try was an image containing UR characters, initials that stands from "University of Rochester".
The system doesn't function like a regular 0 and 1 model, being based on light intensity.
The light is then minimized into a cesium gas cell where is compressed to one percent from it's original dimension.
The scientists hopes to create an delay, making a photon permanent active, resulting in a device that can store a large amount of data in just few photons.
